What to Pack

  • Non-messy snacks

  • Water bottle

  • Lunch - or parent/caregiver can bring it to them

  • Makeup

  • Hair supplies - we recommend matching your ponytail holders to your hair color and packing bobby pins/hairspray if needed to secure the dancer’s hair out of their face

  • Shoes for dances - if needed

  • Costume accessories (such as an undershirt, shorts) - if needed

  • Undergarments - no underwear under tights if your costume requires them!

Parking

  • FREE at Capitol on Saturdays 

  • Refer to map (at bottom of page) 

  • $45 at parking garage near the building 

Entrance 

  • ALL enter at Union between 5th & 6th “Stage Door”

  • Security Check - parents/caregivers should bring a photo ID!

  • Take the elevator or stairs up to the stage - we recorded this video to show you what we mean :)

Tech 

  • Times vary depending on what group the dancer is in - your time will be listed on your personalized info sheet from dress rehearsal. You can also view call times here.

  • Arrive 10 minutes before your designated time slot - we have no spare minutes to waste in the schedule

  • Check-in with Emily Barker, our stage manager - she will be on the stage wearing a headset

  • Wait on the side of the stage with volunteers until you are called 

  • Parents can watch the dance from the side of the stage 

After Tech

  • Only in 1 dance? 

    • After your tech time ends, find the dressing room to place items down & take a break in the lobby, audience to watch the rest of tech, or go grab a coffee/snacks

  • In 2 or more dances? 

    • After your first tech time ends, stay near the stage or in the audience until your last dance

Everyone should be back at 11:15! Use the stage door to drop off dancer at dressing room & then leave through stage door to head to the Polk entrance. Doors open for the audience at 12:30.


After Performance

  • All dancers will be invited on stage for a finale dance

  • The curtains will close 

  • Dancers will be asked to grab their things from the dressing room with assistance from our volunteers

  • The parent/caregiver with the MOVE wristband will wait in the auditorium once the curtain has closed. Dancers will head back to the dressing rooms to change back into their street clothes, then be dismissed by dressing rooms. All other guests will be escorted out to the lobby. Dancers will then come back to the stage area to meet you!
