Meet McKelynn
McKelynn Barber
Bellevue Studio Coordinator | mckelynn@moveinclusivedance.com
McKelynn is a dancer from West Valley City, Utah, who started dancing at the age of 3 and hasn't stopped since. She graduated from Utah Tech University with a bachelor's degree in dance and a minor in philosophy and humanities in 2021. Following her graduation, she moved to rural North Carolina and taught dance at an elementary school for two years through the AmeriCorps program ArtistYear. During the summer of 2022, McKelynn was an intern at the international dance festival, Jacob's Pillow, in the community engagement department, where she assisted in bridging the gap between festival dance happenings and the surrounding community of the Berkshires. When her teaching contract concluded, she moved to Dayton, Ohio, and danced for a season with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company's second company. In July of 2024, McKelynn relocated to Nashville to serve as the Tennessee Program Coordinator for ArtistYear and began building the program in the organization's newest region. Not long after moving to Nashville, McKelynn started volunteering with MOVE and has been with her buddy since her first day of class. Currently, McKelynn continues to work on expanding arts opportunities in the Nashville area through managing the regional ArtistYear cohort and is pursuing a master's degree in humanities. When McKelynn isn't working or dancing, you can find her listening to podcasts, solving the Washington Post crossword, or crocheting.
