Finding Rhythm In Grief

A Free Music & Movement Workshop

Friday, March 13th from 11-2 at our Bellevue studio

7657 Hwy 70 S #101 Nashville, TN 37221

Grief shows up in many ways and often, words alone aren’t enough.
This spring, MOVE Inclusive Dance is hosting a free workshop designed for individuals experiencing grief in any form. This supportive, low-pressure experience offers space to explore music and gentle movement as tools for processing emotions, finding grounding, and reconnecting with your body.

What to Expect

Workshop Timeline:

11:00-12:00 Music Therapy

12:00-12:30 Lunch (provided by MOVE)

12:30-1:30 Dance Movement Therapy

1:30-2 Closing Session

Guided Music Therapy

The workshop will begin with a guided music therapy session led by Kate Kelly, owner of Empower Music Therapy. Through listening, reflection, and optional journaling, participants will explore how music can be a tool to process emotions, reduce stress, and explore grief in a supportive, inclusive space. No musical experience is needed. Just come as you are.

Movement Session

From there, we’ll transition into a movement session led by Janel Carswell, a pre-licensed Mental Health Counselor Dance Movement Therapist. This portion focuses on mindful and authentic movement to help regulate the nervous system and gently release stored stress.

No prior music or dance experience needed.

This group is about connection — honoring our individual grief journeys while building community through creativity, shared expression, and care.

Our hope is that you leave feeling supported and equipped with practical tools you can return to, whether in moments of heaviness or moments of healing.
